"I have a dream". Many Americans know this quote as the phrase that influenced racial equality. As many know, Martin Luther King Jr. day is arriving shortly. His first boycott was in 1955, in Montgomery. He led a successful bus boycott that sparked the idea in many people's minds of civil rights. Then, 8 years later, King organized a protest in Alabama and nonviolent march where he delivered his famous "I have a dream" speech. According to Wikipedia.com, "On October 14, 1964, King received the Nobel Peace Prize for combating racial inequality through nonviolent resistance." Shortly after, King led marches for poverty and the Vietnam war. Several marches and speeches later, King was awarded the presidential medal of freedom, congressional gold medal, and a holiday. In conclusion, Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man that changed the way society viewed each other. After all, "Peace if possible, truth at all costs."
